Meet The MiKe Board Members

Zach VanderGraaff works as the K-4 Music Specialist with Frankenmuth Schools. He completed his Master’s and Undergraduate Degrees in Music Education from Central Michigan University. It’s also at CMU where Zach took Kodaly Level I and II. He then earned his Kodaly Certificate from Indiana University and their Kodaly Summer Program, where he took Level III with help from the Jeno Adam Scholarship. Zach also presents at conferences, serves as President of the Michigan Kodaly Educators, and runs the Dynamic Music Room, a music resource website.

Melissa Stouffer is a music teacher who has taught infants through middle school general music, elementary and middle school choir as well as a middle school band program which she founded while teaching on a cart. She has a BS in Psychology and BME in Music Education from Central Michigan University and is Kodály certified. She serves as the Past President and President Elect of the Michigan Kodály Educators, the MMC Planning Committee Representative for the Michigan Music Educators Association. She is a frequent presenter and the creator and author of www.mrsstouffersmusicroom.com.
Melissa Stouffer

Teri Rae Martin teaches Young 5 through 3rd grade General Music and 4th-5th grade Choir at Linden Community Schools. She earned her BM, with a concentration in education and flute performance, from Wayne State University. She earned her MA, with a wind band conducting concentration, from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. Ms. Martin completed Level III Orff certification, through the University of Alaska and Madonna University, level II Kodály certification through University of Redlands/KASC and Level I World Music Drumming certification in Barcelona through Vandercook University. She also continues to have an active performing career as a flutist/piccoloist with the Livonia Symphony Orchestra and as a woodwind doubler for many musical theatres.

Andrea Foerster is currently teaching K-2 general music at Star International Academy. She is involved with the Macomb Area Community Band, and the Michigan Flute Orchestra. Andrea received her Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University.

McKenna Luty is the K-5 Music Teacher at Bennie Elementary and Arno Elementary located in Allen Park. She has re-established the Elementary Honors Choir after school club, created the Composition Club, as well as collaborated to create the Art and Music exploration club. She earned her Bachelors Degree in General Music Education from Central Michigan University.

Jessica Wall is the Preschool-5th Grade music educator at Lake City Elementary School where she has taught since 2015. Jessica has established a ukulele program at Lake City Elementary, and continues to research and bring new fun and engaging activities to her students each year, working to instill a love for music in her students and the school community. Jessica has presented at several workshops in the state of Michigan as a part of the Michigan Kodaly Educators Board, including the annual Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids. She enjoys sharing new ideas with fellow music educators, and learning from them as well. Jessica has received her Bachelor’s of Music Education and her Masters of Music Education from Central Michigan University. She also has received her Level 1 Kodaly certification through CMU under the tutelage of Dr. Ashley Allen and Dr. Joy Nelson. Jessica has served as the Michigan Kodaly Educators President, President Elect, and Secretary. She currently serves as Member at Large.

Demetrius Farley is a K–5 General Music Teacher in Detroit Public Schools Community District, where he has taught at Wayne Elementary for several years. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Alabama A&M University and his Master of Music Education with a Kodály Emphasis from Lakeland University, where he also completed his Kodály Certification. In addition, he has pursued Orff Schulwerk training, completing Level 1 at Jackson State University and Level 2 at Wayne State University. Demetrius serves as the General Music Cohort Leader for Detroit Public Schools Community District, leading professional development and supporting district-wide collaboration among music educators. He is also certified in Feierabend’s First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfège. At Wayne Elementary, he founded the Wayne Elementary Singers and Wayne Percussion Ensemble, creating meaningful performance opportunities for students. His teaching reflects a deep commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy, trauma-informed practices, and student-centered music learning, empowering every child to see themselves as a musician.
